SAN FRANCISCO & BOSTON-- Voltus, Inc. ("Voltus"), the leading distributed energy resource (DER) software platform, today announced that it successfully predicted all system demand peaks to date within expected dispatch volumes in the PJM Interconnection (“PJM”), Electricity Reliability Council of Texas (“ERCOT”), Independent Electricity System Operator (“IESO”), New York ISO (“NYISO”), and ISO-New England (“ISO-NE”) markets.
Voltus offers a no-cost, no-risk demand charge avoidance program called “Peak Saver,” which leverages Voltus’s proprietary technology to analyze historical peaks and trends, forecasted peaks, customers’ impact on overall system load, weather patterns, and geography to predict and communicate dispatches to commercial and industrial energy consumers. With demand peak charges increasing in multiple markets, avoiding these costs create significant cash savings for Voltus customers.
“For energy users across North America, peak demand charges continue to rise, making operating and electricity costs more difficult to manage,” says Todd Krause, Chief Revenue Officer at Voltus. “It’s critical that commercial and industrial energy consumers have a strategy to reduce or eliminate these avoidable costs in a way that minimizes curtailment and disruption and maximizes avoided expenses. Managing peak demand charges through Peak Saver creates only upside for our customers - there are no risks or penalties for participating customers. Participating in Peak Saver is considered an energy strategy best practice.”
